A Country A Day..

OK, I've decided that there's no real way for me to post just one blog of my entire 18 day trip, so I'll just do a country a day. I haven't uploaded my pictures from Amsterdam yet, so I'll have to skip that for now, and go straight to Belgium and Paris.
Belgium melts in with Paris because we only passed by Belgium for a few hours so we can steal their chocolate and food. So, a few things I learned about Belgium:

1) They speak Dutch and/or French.
2) They started the "French Fry"...so it should really be "Belgian Fry"
3) They have awesome beer
4) They have awesome mussels

-- of course...the awesome chocolate! We didn't get to have waffles. We just ran out of time! Here are a few pictures:

Now, on to Paris, France. It was raining almost the entire time in Paris, but our first night there, we went on a Seine cruise without rain. It was beautiful! The Eiffel Tower was sparkling right when we were coming around the bend (It sparkles every hour for five minutes starting at 9 pm).

We had a bus tour of Paris the following morning. It was nice and sunny during the day, but we were rained on the entire day after having visited the Louvre. We still managed to walk from the Louvre to the Arc in the pouring rain though.

We went to see Notre Dame the following day. It was pretty, but being inside made me light headed cause it smelled too holy or something. Too much holy water/perfume smelling stuff. Dan and I lost our group in the rain after that, so we went to Montmartre...to see the artists..the church...and those bazillion flights of stairs! We also quickly passed by Moulin Rouge which sadly wasn't lit up yet.

We met back up with the group for our Eiffel Tower appointment. It was spectacular up there! Dan and I decided to wait for it to get all sparkly again. It was well worth it!

The next day, and final day, was nice and sunny. Dan and I walked around and decided to look for the other statue of liberty, pick up some lunch, and eat by the Eiffel Tower before heading back to the hotel. Some guy at the French Supermarket thought I was Mexican, some lady was French-rude to Dan, and we laughed at what the French considered "American Food".
