Italy

I still haven't uploaded my Amsterdam pictures, so I'm going to continue on to what came after Paris: Italy.

We took a night train from Paris to Firenze, Italy, aka Florence. It was a gloomy day, we knew the rain was going to come in, but that couldn't ruin what was coming ahead: The BEST gelato EVER!! We had gelato twice before we left Firenze. We toured the small town, saw Michelangelo's David, and looked up at the Duomo.

The following day we headed to Asisi. It was such a quaint and quiet little town, with a beautiful view, and kind people.

We headed to Rome afterward. We decided to check out Rome's Metro system since the Termini station was literally across the street from our Hotel Siracusa. It was a lot cheaper than France, thank goodness. We had dinner at a restaurant recommended by the concierge called La Famiglia. DELICIOUS! We go to see the Vatican museum, and Dan took some illegal pictures at the Sistine Chapel. We ventured off on our own after that. We got to see the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, and had MORE gelato at Giolitti (the best gelato place in Rome). To be honest, I was underwhelmed by Rome. The night walk we went on was fun, but other than that...I just wasn't that amazed. We also had our "best of the tour" dressy dinner with our new found friends, and had a few drinks. Dan and I also went to salsa dance for a few minutes (so random).

Look at how buff our bus driver in Rome was! Everyone was saying, "He must've been hot when he was younger." Ooh Italians. haha!

After Rome, we went on a ferry to Capri. I would have to say that Capri was one of my favorite places. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and also devastatingly expensive (10 Euros for an espresso, 6-7 Euros for gelato). We went on a boat tour around the island, and I just fell in love with the place. Our tour guide, Sasha, was great. He was hilarious, and got us a pretty good deal on a tasty lunch. This is where the stars go to relax, apparently.

From Capri, we took a boat to Sorrento, where we spent the night. Sorrento is another resort town. We hiked up several steps to get to our hotel, and found ourselves in a cute room with an amazing terrace. We had dinner that night with the same bunch of awesome people. I had the best pizza EVER in Sorrento. The next day was drama central. Some irresponsible little hoe-bags sparked an argument, and everyone was just at it. It was pretty interesting.

After Sorrento, we passed by Pompeii. I learned that they had whorehouses even back then, as evidenced by the following picture:

We then headed on a boat to Greece...
