Last one of the year..

This is more than likely going to be my last post for the year!! I think everyone is turning over to myspace...or have been left behind at Xanga...and this page just isn't cutting it...but, in the spirit of Christmas, I'm going to leave this game behind...

Been a while

I'm starting to get the hang of school. I don't want to jinx myself though..so maybe I shouldn't say that. I haven't had much excitement aside from the fact that I've found a whole bunch of long lost friends...

1) Allan: Now living in Georgia..and has a two year old child.
2) Jerry: Still living in Vallejo...studying to be a chef
3) Peter Michael: Married for two years in LA.
4) Anita: Still living in Vallejo trying to get into the nursing program at SF state
5) Rahwa: Still best friends with Anita and living in Vallejo.

Nice to catch up with friends from years passed.

Updates on life...

The picture above was taken by my younger brother during the Fiesta in the Philippines.

- On Tuesday my brother and I got the opportunity to watch Wicked. It was my second time and it was the first time for my brother. I love that musical.

- The apartment is still a complete mess. I need to seriously get a move on cleaning up.

- I'm in a search for employment. I received a call this morning from a diagnostic center in San Rafael (a part time job). Hopefully I can get a call back for an interview time. I would love that job because it's close to the school and it's part time.

- I wish I had more money. I would tear Ikea apart. I've just been buying more stuff for the house instead of clearing out all the stuff I already have in the living room.

- I have two exams next week. I gotta catch up on some reading. I was doing good with the reading last week, but I've been falling behind.

Random note of the day: Taye Diggs is a nice piece of man cake.

A crazy couple of weeks!

- There have been a million things going on all at once....

1) I've started school at Dominican University (this being my second week of school)

2) I've nearly completely moved out of my Sacramento apartment, and now almost completely moved IN to my new one in the Bay Area.

3) I watched Wicked last Friday (August 26th). It was the best musical I have ever seen by far. I wish I could go see it again. Check out the site --> http://www.wickedthemusical.com/ Apparently, they're having auditions in MA. Too bad I can't just drive there. I'd totally try and audition.

4) Had my last day at work on August 19th. The gang hung out at the State Fair after work ...then we headed over to eat...then we went to a gay bar. haha (It was the closest thing around). Then I headed home. It was a long day, but fun. The day after that...Mundo and I watched 40 year old virgin then Charlie and the Chocolate factory...the day after that....we went shopping at the Folsom Outlets and spent more money than we should have.

- Life had been eventful! I've realized I hate moving. Too much work! The only thing that would make moving great is if I absolutely hated my roommate. I think I can learn to love the new apartment..it's just going to take some time. I slept there by myself for the first time last night. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

- Shopping list..
1) Universal remote control
2) Extension cord with a third hole in it.

Random Note of the Day: I hate it when a nice old crazy driver cuts you off. It makes it hard to be angry. Stop smiling kindly when you cut me off old people!!

Not Feeling Too Great Right Now

- It never seems to fail. Right before school starts I always manage to get sick! I hate having a cold. It sucks. Being a work sick is even worse. Hopefully it fades by Monday so I can kick off the school year healthy and prepared.

- For my birthday I received:

  • 1) A total of $635
  • 2) Pajamas (which someone always gives me on any gift giving occassion- because I LOVE pajamas)
  • 3) A book
  • 4) Nail kit
  • 5) Camisoles
  • 6) Web Cam
  • 7) A short movie that the Newsies made themselves (this is indie at it's finest)...courtesy of my brother.
8) Tickets to watch WICKED!! (from Mundo)

....also my aunt gave me a very late Christmas present..it was still wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper and everything...It was a lovely Gap sweater.

*Birthdays are GRAND...minus the aging that comes along with it ofcourse.

- I think Mundo really liked what I got him....Three frames of pictures I took of his family....Nike Workout Clothing, and Polo Blue. I was really excited about the WICKED tickets he got. It sucks that he had to pay so much for them cause of scalpers who buy tickets for regular price then selling them again on Ebay for three times that amount.

- I'm planning on watching Comedy Jam on Sept 24th in the Bay Area. Carlos Mencia, Charlie Murphy, and a whole bunch of other comedians are performing there. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I thinking of doing what these stupid scalpers do and buying a whole bunch for cheap, then selling them for twice or even three times that amount. I hate scalpers. They freaken suck.

- Yesterday was the line up for American Idol auditions at the Cow Palace in SF. My friend Greg went. Good luck to him. I hope to see him on television.

- Congratulations to my friend David who has recently been engaged to marry*. He asked me to be his bridesmaid yesterday, and I willingly accepted. I'm totally happy for you. Finally!!

- Going to the State Faire tomorrow with some co-workers afterwork...then afterward drunken kereoke. I don't know if I'm going to be up for all that cause I'm sick and all, but I'm sure as heck am going to try.

- Can't believe school starts Monday!! Aaaah!! Scary!

Random Note of the Day: Headaches aren't really headaches, they're scalp-aches.

*Not necessarily true.

My 24th Birthday

- So today...I turn a sad 24. Dang it!!! On the good side...Mundo cooked me breakfast today....macadamia nut pancakes. They were awesome!

- At the moment...I'm at work. Working on your birthday is never really any fun. After work I'm meeting up with my mom and brother to have dinner.

- Yesterday I took the day off. I bought Mundo his birthday present: Three frames of pictures I took of his family (Which, I have to say myself, are great!), Nike workout clothing, and polo blue cologne. I'm still thinking of getting him some banana republic clothing, but I don't know. He still hasn't told me what he's gotten for me. We're sort of waiting on tonight to let each other know what we got.

- Tonight is the second episode of Going Tribal and I don't want to miss it. So what I'm probably going to do is have my mom bring home some food instead of eating out because I want to be able to watch it.

- Moving to my new apartment on August 28th. I am very excited to move back to the Bay Area, but I am not excited about paying the ridiculous gas prices and insane rent payments. Damn it!

- After my brother Jay interviewed Mr. Garrett for his summer project my mom picked him up. After all these years she finally met both Mr. & Mrs. Garrett. Glad they finally met.

Random Note of the Day: How many times did they graduate High School on Saved by the Bell. It's at least two times....once when Kelly and Jesse Spano were there because I remember how Screech gave up valedictorian to Jesse Spano. I know there was another graduation when the biker girl was in the cast.

Thursday, August 11, 2005

- This is my little brother Jay in Mr. Garrett's wonderful car. My brother is currently away at summer camp. I miss him already, but good Jay. Evil Jay can stay at camp forever.

- Picture of Gabriel (basically my adopted brother and future roommate). I love this picture. I know it's not good to vandalize, but somehow it's acceptable when it's at night with fog. I love this picture.

- My last day at my full time job in Sacramento is next Friday. I'm putting some serious thought into who I'm going to leave my stupid goldfish with. I thought this thing was going to die in a month, but it's a fighter. I think it's because I fed him rice before I finally decided that fish food flakes might be a better fit for his diet. Gold fish are NOT gold by the way (if you didn't already know). They're sparkely orange. Why don't they just rename it sparkely orange fish? Cause that's what it is!

- I was watching a movie yesterday called "Thirteen." That movie was so disturbing. I don't know how I got voted "best all around" in Junior High School when I absolutely hated it. I went to the ghetto school. I had such bad memories, and very little good. I'm going to voluntarily omit every Junior High School memory I have. That movie just reminded me of how glad I am to be in my 20s. I wish I could go back to the teenager I was years ago and let her know that it won't always be as bad as Junior High School. F-ing adolescense!

Random Note of the Day: When did I start to love vegetables? I used to despise them! I think my tastebuds mutated with age or something

INTERESTING INDEED!

- I was channel surfing yesterday and came upon a season premiere for a show called GOING TRIBAL. It's so great! I recommend for everyone to watch it! Tuesdays at 9pm (PST) on the Discovery Channel. The show's British host Bruce basically hangs out and learns about different Tribes for about a month each. The show is an hour long and you see the beginning when he arrives at the tribe to the end when he leaves. It's great because Bruce goes along with the tribal rituals. In last night's episode he was about to get into a stick fight where he would have most likely been killed, but the tribal leader didn't allow it. He also had to drink cow's blood because it was some sort of ritual. It's hilarious and educational. It's my new favorite show.

- My other favorite show is Entourage. HBO just has the best shows right now- hands down. I can't wait for the new show ROME.

- Good news....I got a call back from Bella Vista Apartments and it looks like we finally got approved! Thank goodness! We initially were declined, but apparently the mistake was made on their side.

Random Note of the Day: I love hearing songs that I haven't heard in years. Some songs just bring you back as if you'd never aged. Countdown to my 24th birthday.....six days...NOOOO!!!!

F!

- The Above pictures were taken by Mundo's ex brother in law. I think he's fantastic. http://www.jamesherron.com

- I'm trying to think of what could be worse than moving back home. I'm thinking really hard, and I can't think of anything except for maybe these things:

a) Getting my arm cut off
b) Tatooing "Stupid" to my forehead
c) Eating FEAR FACTOR food for the rest of my life
d) Sticking a needle in my eye every five seconds

....I think it'd be best if I didn't move back home.

- Below is an apology to everyone I haven't been keeping in touch with as of late:

Dear Friends,
It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I apologize for not calling you back. I promise to do so within the next couple of days. Sorry,

Love,
Iris

- Yesterday was the start of a three day period of insecticide spraying over Sacramento. Apparently there is a good number of blood sucking mosquito bugs that could be infected with the nile virus so they're trying to get rid of as many bugs as possible. Two twin engine planes will fly over Sacramento from 8pm-midnight. Today would be the second straight day. All I can think is....there has GOT to be at least 20 health code violations being broken when they do that. Just like saying Agent Orange won't do much damage to humans. Someday 15-20 years from now someone on the news is going to do a documentary and it's going to sound similar to this..."In 2005, before we all grew third and fourth arms and became mutants, someone made the silly mistake of spraying poisonous insecticides over the entire northern region of Sacramento." This place is nuts.

Random Note of the Day: I don't know why people say they don't want people crying at their funeral. When I die...I want lots and LOTS and LOTS of crying.....screaming-crying even. hahaha

Monday, August 08, 2005

- It's almost my birthday. Why am I NOT excited? I used to love to get a year older. What the heck happened to that excitement, and when did I start considering over 21 old? I only have one more year left before I'm 25, and another year after that before I can start considering it my LATE 20's. GEEX! How utterly depressing. The perfect age? 25. At that age you're old enough to drink, rent a car for cheap, and lower insurance payments. I would settle for 21 though.

- The stupid leasing consultant at the apartments Gabe and I are applying for is completely irresponsible. I'm pretty sure he's just trying to avoid me because he won't pick up or return my calls. What an A-HOLE! At the very least, if we're declined, he could inform someone so I can try to search for another place to stay. I hate it. It's so freaken stressful.

- School starts on the 22nd of August!! I don't know how to feel about that. I'm excited and stressed out all at the same time. In between finding a place, moving, getting myself situated, and thinking of ways that I could pay for tuition next month....my brain's exhausted all patience and energy.

- I feel freaken fat. I need to buff myself up.

-Random Note of the Day: If I set for myself a task, be it so trifling, I shall see it through. How else shall I have confidence in myself to do important things? George Clason

Air-e-smell

- For the passed two weeks people at work have been discussing how kids used to butcher and make fun of their names. It's a cause for laughter. Here are a few...I'll start out with mine

Airecel..... Air-e-smell, Duracel, Air head, Aerosoles, Arisol, Ariel

Sonia....... Sonia Bonia

Katina Stockton.... Katina Modesto, Katina Sacramento

Mundo..... Mundo Spoondo, Telemundo

Jolie.... Poop Eye, Jolie Pollie Olie (recently given by me)

Saul..... Sah-OOooOOl

Clint.... Clit

- I have to get back into the business..I can feel myself slipping.

- I had a dream last night that Jake Gyllenhaal asked me out on a date. It was heaven. Heath Ledger was there too, but I didn't get to go out with him. Oh well.

- My friend David sucks.

- For those of you who are bored...I came upon a blog..and it's pretty interesting..check it out... http://www.gonzoscience.blogspot.com

- I read an article in GQ that said that Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell, and Ben Stiller are a part of some sort of "Comedy Mafia." I think Steve Correll is going to soon that group.

Random Note of the Day: It sucks when wearing heals doesn't really make me taller than anybody else.

Interesting

- I just found out that the "woman machine" which dispenses of "womanly products" is defective...so when I put a quarter in...I get a "woman product" and it spits my quarter back out! Wahahah! The super great thing is...the "woman machine" at work doesn't just have cheap stuff...they have the Pearl soft glide stuff. (I know this sounds gross) HAHAH. Needless to say I kept putting my quarter in. HAHAH! YES! FREE WOMAN PRODUCTS!!!

- I carpooled today with some roommates. It was sort of weird to wake up all at the same time, but at the same time I kind of strangely enjoyed riding together to work. Sucks that I have to leave because had I stayed..I would have gotten a bonus of $1000 per hired person after they've been employed for 90 days. Danged! Maybe I should rethink leaving and going to school. haha.

Random Note of the Day: I miss watching Snorks.

Another Day....

- I think I'm starting to get the dating itch. I know I said I was going to try not to date for another four months, but seriously...come on!! I have come to terms with the fact that I am a relationship person. I like being in relationships. I think it's a LEO thing. I've never known a LEO who couldn't say the same thing....here are a few that make this fact... Airecel, Iris, Jaime, MA. f-ing. DONNA, Mundo, Gary, Saul, etc. The list is endless. I haven't been single longer than 2 months since I was 16. That's pretty f-ing crazy. I go through these dating frenzies for a month or two when I date like a maniac. Then I eventually find one that I really like and I end up with them for a year or two or LONGER. A year with Greg, 2 years with Jose, 3 years with Mundo....I just noticed their names go in alphabetical order. Weird.

- I have a severe problem called rapid bored-itis. When I'm in my regular dating frenzy...I just fall "out of like" really quick. One stupid or annoying comment could totally make me never want to date that person again. Either that or I just get bored. Man...I sound freaken mean right now, but it's just so true. For example....I was hanging out with my brother the day after a date, and after telling him about a comment my date made my brother said, "he just ruined his chance." My brother knows me well.

- My mother is going through surgery right at this very moment. She's been in bad shape for some time now. I think it has a lot to do with her mental state. Lots of stress will catch up to you eventually. I'm afraid the same will happen to me. Plus, as sad as this is, I think a part of her enjoys the attention. Otherwise, why would she call everyone and tell them about her physical misery? If you can't get empathy from home, I guess you'll try to get it elsewhere. I'm really worried about her, but I don't want to let her know because sometimes others' worry or pity gives you an excuse to stop fighting.

- Since Adventure Dave is pretty much the only person reading this right now....I'm going to give a shout out and say, "Hey sucker. Word to your motha! Props! Drop me a comment homie g funk." haahaha I'm a dork. Also, because I haven't seen you in a while, I have grown two inches and am now blonde.

- Random Note of the Day: I want to be able to adopt one child from each continent one day.

Tuesday, July 26, 2005

- So today... I'm going to be driving all the way to Pleasanton for my much beloved part time job. That's over an hour's worth of driving going one way, and although I feel like it's ultimately going to be worth it, I have to push myself harder and harder to go the later it is in the week. A demanding full time job + a part time job = TIRED (but financially sound) IRIS!!

- I am a ball of emotions. I try to push them to the back of my mind, but I feel that sooner or later there won't be any storage space back there, and they'll all come up at once. I hope that moving away and starting new won't be as hard as I imagine it might be.

Random Note of the Day: This thing rocks way harder than Xanga! wahaha!

Monday, July 25, 2005

One of those, "Eh, it was alright," type of weekends

- I was supposed to have a pretty rockin weekend....hang out at Ruby Skye after doing a loan on Friday, 3 loans to do on Saturday, and an HOP on Sunday at my mom's house. Instead, I had one loan on Friday, hung out at a ghetto bar after, had ZERO loans on Saturday (rescheduled), and had a flop of an HOP on Sunday. Retarded!! On the positive side, I know there will be more loans coming up...they've just rescheduled...not canceled. So it's okay. Also, I have another loan lined up...so that's about four loans in the coming week hopefully.

- Also, my brother and I got to rent and watch some movies... An Affair to Remember, Election, and A Very Long Engagement. Three fabulous movies!!

.
- I've wanted to watch this movie for the longest time, but never really had the opportunity to. I thought the exchange of dialogue between the two main characters was really modern. It was impressive. It kind of condoned cheating though. All in all..I still felt like it was worth watching

- I'd seen the beginning of Election before. I never had the opportunity to finish it up until last night. Reese Witherspoon is a crack up.

- I loved Amelie...so I really wanted to watch A Very Long Engagement because it has the same female lead and same director. Loved the movie. It was fabulously done.

- Went apartment hunting Saturday afternoon and found a couple awesome places. Looks like I'm going to be living in North Richmond soon.
- Mundo's first day at work is today. Strange.
- My eyes are getting so dry...grr..danged stress. It always happens when I stress out...my eyes just get really dry. It's my unusual physical response to stress. It's annoying.

- I read this on a site..."When it is dark enough, you can see the stars." I love that. It's so easy to overlook the wonderful things in life until things go dark.

- Here are some pictures from Disneyland......

Random Note of the Day: Track #11 on Common's new album....a kid says..."I want to be a duck."

Thursday Night

-Last night sucked!! I hate feeling like that. When the sun is up....it's much easier for me to deal with certain emotions, but something about the night weakens my ability to do so. Danged! Props to my friend and future roommate Adventure Dave for telling me retarded jokes over the phone to make me forget about my ordeal.

- As a loan originator...one of the happiest moments in your career is when you find a client and do a loan. Since I have an appointment today..I would have to say that today can't be all that bad.

- Aside from the loan...I'll be going out with some friends tonight! Hopefully it'll be fun. If anyone wants to meet up..we'll be going to Ruby Skye! Awesomeness!!!

- Also..planning on going back to Vegas on the second week of August..if anyone wants to go....let me know! We'll be renting out a four bedroom house with lots of space to crash!! The more the merrier!!

Random Note of the Day: I'm going to make my first million before I'm 30 years old.

Brand New Blog

I just go really tired of Xanga...so here I am...my blog's new home.
